Nancy Pickering, 80, of Newcomb, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Lynne Mackey, on Friday, September 01, 2017.
Nancy was born in Newcomb on June 1, 1937 to the late James and Gertrude Lynch McCoy. She was a graduate of Newcomb Central School, class of 1954. In 1955 she graduated from Mildred Elley Business School.
On August 19, 1956, she married Gerald V. Pickering. Gerald died on November 30, 2009. She was employed by Newcomb Central School for 27 years. She and Gerald enjoyed their 5th wheel RV, touring all fifty states.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynne, of Ballston Lake; son, Bruce (Arlene) of Troy. Two granddaughters that meant the world to her: Erica and Erin both of Ballston Lake. Nancy is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours are scheduled at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake on Monday, September 4, 2017, from 4-8PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Therese Catholic Church in Newcomb on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Therese Cemetery.
