BERNADETTE BEATRICE (BEDORE) DATTOLA, age 96, of Mercy Healthcare Center died peacefully on July 2, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Born in Piercefield, NY on July 20, 1918. She was the daughter of Adolph "Duffy" and Emma (Beaujolie) Bedore. She was married to Philip Dattola on April 29, 1941 where they resided for 60 years at 6 Berkley Avenue, Tupper Lake, NY. Together they had seven children.
Bernadette worked at the Oval Wood Dish for 10 years and was active in volunteer organizations. When she became a housewife, Bernadette was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family.
She is survived by her children, Donna Hachey and her husband David, from Tupper Lake, NY, Daniel Dattola and his wife Lori from New Mexico, Theresa Goddeau and her husband Everest, from Lake Placid, NV, James Dattola from Tupper Lake, NY, and Rick Dattola and his wife Lisa from Tupper Lake, NY. Two sisters, Greta Rovito and Betty Bencze, and her husband Frank, all of Tupper Lake, NY. Her Grandchildren Linda Stocum, Jennifer (Ben) Woltering, Nina Dattola, Dominic (Ashley) Dattola, Sarah Dattola, Aimee Goddeau, and Mike (Mindy) Goddeau, Her Great Grandchildren, Brody Callaghan, Philip Callaghan, Jesse Zahler, Rayha Torrance, Rowan, Torrance, and Sydnee Goddeau and many nieces and nephews. Bernadette was predeceased by her husband Philip, her daughter Antoinette Manzano, her son Philip Dattola, Jr. her father, mother, two brothers Henry Bedore and Donald Bedore and one sister Gloria Rieck.
Calling hours will take place at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday July 6, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:00 AM on Thursday July 7, 2016 at Holy Name Church in Tupper Lake. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
