TUPPER LAKE
Donna Amell Thomas, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2015.
Born on July 11, 1955 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Ray W. Amell and Shirley Duffy Dechene. She graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1974 and became an employee of Ames department store going on to work at Sunmount DDSO where she had been employed for the past twenty-seven years.
She enjoyed traveling, shopping, bowling and spending time with friends and family.
She will be remembered for being a diehard New York Giants fan, her big heart, outgoing personality, and always putting others before herself.
She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Thomas, children Paul, wife Erika, and Lindsay. Her mother Shirley Dechene and stepdad Donald, Siblings, Caren and Norm Cote, Stewart and Laurie Amell, Bryan and Sue Amell, Darlene and Brent Strack, Alene Amell, Mark and Tracey Amell, and Holly and Scott Campbell. Her Aunt Rena Amell and Aunt Margaret Vezo. Many nieces, nephews and her little babies Alivea, Isabel, Scarlet, Jayde and her sidekick Benji.
She was predeceased by her father Raymond W. Amell and her brother, Gregory D. Amell.
Calling hours are scheduled from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, November 2, at the Stuart -Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m Tuesday, November 3rd, at St. Alphonsus Church. A gathering will be held immediately after at the VFW.
