    Obituary for Dorothy Fuller (LaPointe)

    Dorothy  Fuller (LaPointe)
    Dorothy (LaPointe) Fuller of 12 Murray Street, Tupper Lake, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday May 13, 2015. She was born on March 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Romeo LaPointe and the late Leah (Lavigne) (LaPointe) Lefebvre. Dorothy graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1950. She worked for Peoples’ Pharmacy for many years.

    On May 22, 1955 she married John Fuller at St. Alphonsus Church in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Gloria and her husband to be, Richard Garrelts. The Rev. Monsignor Domina Brault preformed the ceremony. This was the first double wedding at St. Alphonsus in many years.

    Dorothy is survived by her husband, John, of almost 60 years. She has two children, daughter, Marcy LaVigne and her husband Dean; and a son, Martin Fuller and his wife Laurie, all of Tupper Lake.

    She was fortunate enough to have 5 grandchildren, Donnie Ray Hachey and his wife Terri of Alexandria, Virginia; Zachary J. LaVigne of Atlanta, Georgia; Amanda (Fuller) Lizotte and her husband Scott; and twin granddaughters, Lexie and Nicole Fuller all of Tupper Lake.

    She was also blessed with a great granddaughter, Jeannelle Lizotte and one great grandson, Maddox Lizotte.

    Dorothy is also survived by her sisters, Gloria “Dolly” Garrelts and Theresa “Tootsie” and her husband Richard Sabin. She has one brother, Dean Lefebvre and his wife Kathleen. She was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Roger LaPointe, and two sisters, Shirley Jean LaPointe and Margaret Robillard.

    She is survived by 5 nephews, 12 nieces, many great-nephews and nieces, and great-great nieces and nephews.

    Dorothy loved walking, reading and spending time with her family along with having tea and visiting with her sisters and friends.

    Calling hours will be at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, May 15th from 5-7pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12 noon at Holy Name Church. Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
