Obituary for Pearl Stella Arnold (LaFountain)
Pearl Stella (LaFountain) Arnold was called home by the Father on December 15, 2014 after enjoying 89 years with her family on Earth. After a lifetime of sharing the good news, Jesus finally ushered her into the kingdom of everlasting life.
Pearl was a beloved member of the Tupper Lake Christian Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and with her many friends at the Don Smith Apartments. A formidable WII bowler, Pearl continued to bowl and get strikes even throughout the blindness that claimed the last 4 weeks of her life.
A sweet lady with a joyful smile, Pearl was born in Faust, NY on July 9, 1925 and lived most of her life in Tupper Lake. She married Francis Robert Arnold on September 5, 1953.
Pearl’s survivors include sister Arila “Elsie” (Ben) Morin of Fort Mohave, AZ, sister-in-law Geraldine (Roy) LaFountain of Tupper Lake, daughter Alanna (Gifford) Fox of Tupper Lake, daughter Donna (Steven) Hillman of Appleton, NY, son Ricky (Denise) Arnold of Morrisonville, NY, and daughter Paula Arnold (Christopher Baum) of Boston; grandchildren Kyle and Matthew Arnold, and Rebekka Page and Rachael Hillman; great grandchildren Ava, Ethan, Lyla Violet, Landen, and Logan. She was also blessed by many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
She was predeceased by husband Francis “Buck“, mother Stella (Perry) LaFountain and father Eugene LaFountain, Norman LaFountain who died at birth, brother WW II Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient Francis (Ethel) LaFountain, sister Mary “Theresa” (Gordon) Bushey, Roy (Geraldine) LaFountain, sister Helen (Armand) Reandeau, and brother Joseph “Harold” LaFountain. They all rejoice in her homecoming.
Calling hours will be Thursday, December 18 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by a service presided by Pastor Dave at Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring at the Holy Name Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Tupper Lake Christian Center.
