Janice Derosia, 76, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home. Janice was born November 4, 1942 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of George and Jeanne Young. Janice grew up in Tupper Lake and attended Tupper Lake School district. After high school, she married James Derosia on November 12, 1960. She and James had six children. Janice worked at the Tupper Lake Veneer until it closed and then went on to run a Thrift Shop in Star Lake until she returned to Tupper Lake. Janice loved to garage sale, recycle, read and she loved spending time with family and friends.
She also loved her country music. Janice loved to socialize and she was always able to speak to anyone who wanted to talk to her. She was pre-deceased by her parents, George and Jeanne Young, her loving husband, James Derosia, her daughter, Kim Derosia and two sisters, Kate LaPlante and Ruth Young. Janice is survived by her sons, James Derosia and his wife Sue of Massena, Michael Dersosia and his wife Vicki of Piercefield, daughters, Lisa Drabick of Lake Placid, Carrie Richer and her husband Steven of Tupper Lake and Denise Hunter of New Bern, NC. Janice is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, her brother George Young and his wife Gail, sisters, Rena Young, Reta Larabie and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, May 16 from 11 - 1pm with a service at 1pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus cemetery.
