Tena Marie Lanthier passed away after a long struggle with cancer Monday January 14th in her home surrounded by her loving family. Tena was the second daughter of four born to Edmond and Irene Duplantie. Tena was born November 24th 1955 and attended Tupper Lake Central School. She worked various jobs around Tupper and was well known to most of the people in the Village. She was best known for her love and devotion to animals. She cared for many people's pets when they would be away for periods of time. Her devotion was demonstrated by the care she gave to her mother in the final years of her life, living with her to tend to her every need.
Tena was per-deceased by her soul-mate Kenneth (Bucky) LaVair, father Edmond, mother Irene, and one sister,Judy Graton.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Lanthier and his companion Rachael Colby, Kenneth Lavair III, two sisters, Mrs. Russel (Jamie) Clinard of Wendell North Carolina, Mrs. Shane (Bonnie) LaRose of Piercefield. In lieu of flowers she wished for donations to be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
