Evelyn Jean Houghton, 89, of Tupper Lake, passed away, Thursday, August 2 at Mercy Living Center. Born January 29, 1929 in North Creek, she was the daughter of Byron and Julia Andrus. Evelyn was married to Richard Hart and later to John Houghton. She loved her town taking care of their flowers, worked for many years for many businesses and families through the years. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing scrabble, puzzles and watching her old movie channels. She is survived by daughters Linda Hart and Cindy Houghton, Seven grandchildren; Richard, Eric, Ryen, Kimberley, Dean`e, Richie and Aaron. Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a niece Jean. She was pre-deceased by her husbands, sons Larry Hart, Robert, Joseph Houghton a grandson Richie a sister Erla Waterston and a nephew Jimmy. There will be no calling hours. A gathering will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home.
