Obituary for Greta E. Rovito (Bedore)

Greta Evelyn (Bedore) Rovito, 95, of Tupper Lake, passed away, Tuesday, July 24 at Mercy Living Center. Born in Tupper Lake on June 19, 1923, she was the daughter of Adolph "DuffY" and Emma (Beaujolie) Bedore. She grew up in Tupper Lake and attended local schools. On November 20, 1948, she married Anthony "Tony" Rovito and resided at 47 Washington St. He died on May 12, 2012 after 63 years of marriage. Greta worked at the Oval Wood Dish and the Tupper Lake Veneer. She was a member of the Holy Name Altar and Rosary Society. She loved knitting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter Constance Robillard and her husband Mitchell of Tupper Lake, her son Kevin and his wife Eileen of Mayfield, NY, four grandchildren; Christie LaVigne and her husband Michael, Mark Robillard and his wife Darcy all of Tupper Lake, Ryan Rovito and his wife Kasey of Attica, NY and Mitchell Rovito and his wife Brielle of Burlington, VT; Five great-grandchildren; Emma, Luke and Lyla Robillard and Ben and Brady LaVigne. Also surviving is one sister, Betty Bencze and her husband Frank. Greta is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Henry and Donald Bedore and two sisters, Gloria Rieck and Bernadette Dattola. Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday, July 29th from 4 -7pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30 at Holy Name church, burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider, Mercy Living Center or the Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mercy Living center for their dedication and kindness to our Mother during her stay at Mercy.
