Obituary for Woodrow "Woody" Maroun

Woodrow "WoodY" Maroun, 80, passed away, Saturday, June 30 in Bradenton, Florida. Born September 9, 1937 In Tupper Lake, he was the son of Assad and Rose (Abraham) Maroun. Woody was a graduate of Holy Ghost Academy class of 1955 and Canton ATC in 1957 with a degree in accounting. In 1964 he moved to Buffalo and worked for Bell Aero Space and at other accounting firms returning to Tupper Lake in 1981. He owned and operated Woody's Hi Hat for 5 years retiring in 1987. On December 14, 2001 he married Janet Rennell . In 1999 they purchased a home in Bradenton, FL and together have summered in Tupper Lake and enjoyed their friends in Plantation Village in Bradenton in the winter. Woody enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing and in later years trips to the casino. He is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Lynn Quinn and her husband Tony of Tupper Lake, one son Jim and his companion Bonnie of Smyrna, stepsons, Michael and his wife April of Valrico, Mark of Tupper Lake, stepdaughter Michele Eggsware and her husband Rob of Tampa. Also surviving are grandchildren; Nicole and Shaun Quinn, Lindsey and Kelsey Eggsware and Nicholas Maroun, one great grandchild, Jordan McGillis. Woody also leaves behind two brothers; Donald of Coconut Creek, FL and Theodore of Toronto. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, August 13 at St. Alphonsus church. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider the American Lung Association.
