Obituary for Wayne P. Mayotte

Wayne P. Mayotte, age 70 passed away in his home in Tupper Lake on January 5th 2018 surrounded by his family.

Wayne was born on June 22, 1947 to Paul and Ilean (Parent) Mayotte. He attended Tupper Lake High School.

Wayne enlisted in the United States Army and spent time in Germany. Wayne worked at Sunmount DDSO for many years retiring in 2007.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, fishing and hunting. He had a passion for archery and dedicated much of his time to the Tupper Lake Rod and Gun Club where he was well known for his sense of humor and lighted hearted antics when setting up the muzzy courses. Wayne always found time to help anyone new to the sport of archery.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents and one sister Cindy Mayotte. He is survived by one sister, Donna Haigue (Mayotte), his wife of 48 years, Lois Gonyea (Peets), four daughters, Diana Lenker (Gonyea), Sheila Jessie (Gonyea), Christina Tremblay (Gonyea) and Patricia Imlach (Gonyea), and many grand children and great-grand children.

Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, January 11th from 2-4pm with a funeral service at 4pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral home in Tupper Lake followed by a gathering at the Rod and Gun Club
in Tupper Lake. Any donations in Wayne's honor can be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad or High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care.

A graveside service with military honors will be held for Wayne in the spring.
