Obituary for Patrick Edgar Dukett

Patrick Edgar Dukett, 69, passed away on Friday December 22, 2017 at his home.

Pat was born on October 9, 1948 in Saranac Lake, NY. He was the fourth of six children of Edward and Margaret (St. Mary) Dukett.

Pat attended St. Bernard’s and Pius Catholic Schools in Saranac Lake and graduated with the class of 1968. Pat was also among the earliest enrollees and graduated from North Country Community College. He enjoyed music, played in bands, and built his own instruments. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He built his own canoe. He loved the home he built with his family. He was an honest man.
In his career Pat primarily worked for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA). While working for the NYSDEC he helped prepare Whiteface Mountain for the 1980 Winter Olympics and he later spent many years preparing the bobrun and luge ice surfaces for ORDA. He was retired from New York State.

Pat is survived by his two brothers, Edward and Raymond (Gus), both of Tupper Lake. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Mary, and brothers Robert and George (“Hooker”) Dukett.

A burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Lake Clear in May and notice will be given prior.
