Obituary for Roy A Garrow

Roy A. Garrow, 92 of Tupper Lake, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Born on September 25, 1925 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Louis and Lottie (Jarvis) Garrow. Roy was a veteran of WWII serving with the 78th Infantry Division. He was a Purple Heart recipient and was also recipient of European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze service stars. Upon his return from service, he was employed at Sunmount VA and later went on to work at Drapers Corp retiring after 21 years. He was the cemetery sexton at Holy Name cemetery for many years. On May 25, 1946, he married the former Isabelle Young at Holy Name Church. She pre-deceased him on February 19, 2017. He is survived by a daughter Diane Hutchins, five grandchildren; Kevin Hutchins and his wife Janelle, Jody Hutchins and his wife Renee, Jamie Hutchins, Dale Hutchins and his wife Patricia, Sonya Hutchins and Bill Hooper. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren; Allan Michael Martin, Macy Hutchins, Morgan Hutchins, Trevor Hutchins, Jacob Hutchins, Joshua Hutchins, Melissa Dixon and her husband Josh, 2 great-great grandchildren, Haille and Reyna Dixon, a nephew Elroy and Donna Garrow and nieces Wanita Hutchins and Vivian Theriault. He was pre-deceased by his wife, 2 sisters Winnie and Cleda, 4 brothers, Walter, Eddie, Chester and Floyd and a daughter Nancy Hutchins in 2005. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, October 20 from 1-2:45 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at Holy Name church at 3pm.
