    Obituary for Janet Hosley (Sibble)

    Janet Hosley (Sibble)
Janet Sibble Hosley was born in Oil City, PA on August 30, 1915 to the late Frank E. and Janet Glen Sibble. Her dad was a railroad engineer and her mother was a house wife and church volunteer. She studied nursing at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY and received her RN Degree in May, 1936. She worked in the OR at Highland where she met her future husband, Dr. Morrison Hosley. They were married in Rochester and moved to Long Lake to live at the Hosley home on South Rd. The following year they moved into Long Lake to the old Sullivan Inn, which became the Hosley home. They resided in Long Lake where she was the town nurse for more than thirty years. She raised three children in her lovely home; Janet Aron, John and Stuart Hosley. She is survived by Steve (Janet) Aron and their three daughters, Sally Ann (Joe) Asero, MaryEllen Mavillia and Barbara (Brett) Carner. John (Lorrie) Hosley and their children, Julia (Martin Pierce), Trip (Anita), Nathan (Trisha) and Matthew (Elizabeth) Hosley. By her son, Stuart (Lorna) Hosley and their daughters, Dr. Catherine Hosley (Dr. Justin Montanye), and Carol (David) Shogren. Also surviving, 16 great-grandchildren,; Michael and Thomas Asero, Ryan, Maria and Rachel Mavillia, Matthew, Collin and Connor Baker, Austin Pierce, Quinn Hosley, Katie and Luke Shogren, Deuce, Camryn and Logan Hosley and StJohn Hosley. She loved to play cards, entertain, dance the Charleston and travel. She supported her church, the Long Lake Central School, the Library and every other positive force in the community. The naming of the Long lake Medical Center for "Doc and Janet Hosley" was one of the highlights in her life. Janet kept a beautiful garden, loved flowers and had a green thumb for her vegetables. She spent time everyday in outdoor activities. She skied, snow-shoed, mountain climbed, hiked, canoed and rowed her guide-boat. Other hobbies included refinishing furniture and caning chairs. She was a Cub Scout, Brownie and Girl Scout leader locally and later regionally. She was pre-deceased by her parents, husband Morris, daughter Janet Aron and her brother, Edward M. Sibble. The Angel who took her to heaven had to make a quick detour to her beloved Camp on South Pond. Funeral services will be announced in the spring. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake.
