Susan A. Sanford passed away peacefully, August 31, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Born May 9, 1944, Susan was the daughter of Lawrence and Elois (Patraw) Sanford. They predeceased her.
As a "Caretaker’s daughter" she grew up at Kildare Club. As well as being a homemaker helping to raise four boys, she ran the "Super Sub Shop" in Tupper Lake and worked at Sunmount in housekeeping for several years.
Susan loved her family and especially enjoyed big get-togethers with them all at the holidays. She also loved to knit and crochet, adored her cats, and was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving partner of more than forty years, Skip Keniston. Also, surviving her are two sons - Craig and Donald (Becky) Sanford, five grandchildren - Eastynn and Wyatt Sanford of Tupper Lake, Matthew (Ruthie) Sanford of Massena, Emily and Samantha Sanford of Nashville, TN and three great grandchildren, Isabella, Jenna and George Sanford of Massena. Also, Skip’s sons - Jim Keniston and Joe (Betty) Keniston of Tupper Lake and their families.
Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, September 8 from 4-7 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home. A funeral service in honor of Susan's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:30 pm followed by a lunch at the Tupper Lake Baptist Chapel fellowship hall on Mill Street. Memorial donations may be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad
