Jeanne Yamrick passed peacefully after a long illness on Sunday December 4th at Mercy Living Center.
Jeanne was born in Albany, New York on October 11th 1934 to Carroll and Helen McCoy. She attended school in Albany and later graduated from Russell Sage College in 1958 where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught in the Tupper Lake school system for 34 years until her retirement in 1996 .
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 46 years Walter Yamrick. She is survived by her son Mark (and Virginia) Yamrick of Tupper Lake, and her grandchildren Lindsay and Nathan Yamrick.
Jeanne (and Walter) traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states, and 6 of the 7 continents during their years of adventure. She was an active member of the United Community Church and choir for many years, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Memorial gifts may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
Calling hours are scheduled for Wednesday, December 7th from 4 to 6 pm at the Stuart- Fortune -Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake, with a service immediately following the calling hours at the funeral home. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
