TUPPER LAKE- Joseph J. Baker, 79, of Tupper Lake passed away Monday, February 29th at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born on September 22, 1937 in Tupper Lake he was the son of George and Pearl (Theriault) Baker. He was married to the former Sally Barber and together had 6 children; Delaine Poiman of Rochester, NY, MaryJo Cherrier of Cleveland, OH., Sally A. Baker of Plattsburgh, Lawrence Baker of Tupper Lake and pre-deceased by Joseph George Baker and Penny Lynn Baker. Joe was a carpenter for many years before taking a position at the Haines property in Corey's until his retirement. He was also a licensed NY State Guide in the local area. He enjoyed the outdoors; trapping, camping, hunting and fishing and continued these activities with family and friends into retirement. He also enjoyed visits from his 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Friends may call at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home on Saturday, March 5 from 3 - 5 pm. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery in May. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad.
