Albert M LaPointe
Tupper Lake

Albert M LaPointe, 88, passed away February 1, 2016 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born April 20, 1927 in Masson, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Provost) LaPointe.

Albert received his education locally in Tupper Lake. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in WWII from 1945-1946 as a PFC MP.

On June 2, 1951 Albert married Concetta Yolanda Corsivo in Syracuse, NY where they resided until moving to Tupper Lake in 1974. Mr. LaPointe was employed with the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local 30 in Syracuse, NY retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the VFW Post 3120, The Loyal Order of Moose #640 and American Legion. Albert loved to fish, camp, hunt and spend time with the family.

His survivors include his three children: Al & Darlene LaPointe of Tupper Lake of which he resided with, Dawn LaPointe & Tom VanDeuson of Liverpool, Concetta “Lona” & William Bujold of Tupper Lake, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters Anita Paliotta, Jacksonville, FL and Maude Jones, Melbourne, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Connie, sister’s Evelyn, Genevieve, Jean and a brother Adrian.

Calling hours will be Friday, February 5th from 5-7pm at Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Tupper Lake. A funeral service will follow at 7pm. Burial will be in the spring at St. Alphonsus Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Tupper Lake Rescue Squad.
