Obituary for Floyd Garrow

Floyd Garrow, 83, formerly of Tupper Lake, passed away Wednesday July 15, 2015 at the Canton-Potsdam hospital in Potsdam. Born December 1, 1931 in Tupper Lake he was the son of Louis and Lottie (Jarvis) Garrow. He married Beatrice Snye on April 17, 1949. He worked at Drapers Corp in Tupper Lake for many years. When that closed, he moved to Utica and Florida looking for work. He and Beatrice settled in Houston, TX where he worked as a carpenter for R.A. Briggs Company. He retired to Church Point, Louisiana with best friends Val and Annalee Daigle. He enjoyed spending time with family. He loved his grandchildren and adored his great-grandchildren. Floyd loved to travel. He and Beatrice went to Hawaii for their 25th wedding anniversary and his favorite spot to meet friends was in Myrtle Beach. He would travel to visit grandchildren and was living with his granddaughter Lynn until the end. He is survived by six grandchildren; Lynn Ames and her husband Lawrence, Cory Briggs and wife Betty, Richard Snye and companion Jessie Iuraduri, Melissa Matte and her husband Joshua, Matthew Soulia and his wife Sonja, Michelle LaFleur and husband John. Ten great-grandchildren; Charles, Austin and Logan Ames, Jasmine, Taylor and Phillip Briggs, Zachary and Chelsea Matte, Landon and Nathan LaFleur. Also surviving, one brother Roy Garrow and his wife Isabelle and niece Diane, two sister in law Theresa Quesnell and Georgianna Garrow and one niece Donna Connor and four nephews, Wayne, Ronnie, Gary and Glenn. A graveside service will be held in Tupper lake at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home.
