Obituary for Susan E Corneau (Belmore)

Our beloved mother and grandmother (Nana) Susan Elizabeth Corneau, 75, of Tupper Lake, NY passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Born on August 23, 1939, she was the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth (Trainor) Belmore.

She grew up in Tupper Lake and graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1957. She went on to work for the telephone company as an operator, George Nelson Insurance Co, the Village of Tupper Lake and finally at Sunmount Development Center where she retired in the summer of 2000.

She married Eugene O. Corneau on December 26, 1961 and had 2 children together. They divorced in 1990.

Susan was an avid and dedicated golfer, was a member of the Six Women Team and also earned a Queens Cup Championship in 2004. She was a very active member of the church and sang with the choir, which was a great passion of hers. She also loved working in her flower gardens, shopping, collecting pictures and her prized possessions, her three grandchildren.

Susan was predeceased by her parents and more recently her younger sister, Betsy Olney (Belmore) of Tampa, FL in 2013. She is survived by her two children, Michael A. Corneau and his loving companion Danielle Amell and Deborah J. Corneau and her loving companion Spencer Stuart. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Nicole, Michael and Ryan and a long time partner Norman Sovey.

Calling hours will be from 2-4pm with a funeral service to follow on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake, NY.
