Alida Counter passed away on July 30th 2014 in Schenectady ,N.Y..She was born July 7th 1923 in Lac Megantic P.Que, Canada. She was the daughter of Stanislas and Alice Trepanier Labbe.
On April 11,1944 she was married to Robert Counter Sr. at St-Zenon the Propolis church ;P.Que.Cananda and moved to Long Lake , N.Y In 1958 they relocated to Tupper Lake ,N.Y . In 2010 Alida moved to Schenectady N.Y.
From 1958 till 1988 Alida worked 30 years as a waitress in several restaurants in Tupper Lake .Then from 1989 to 1994 she worked at Sunmount DDSO as a Grandmother . She always stayed very active. She enjoyed Bingo, Crocheting , Gardening and playing all sorts of card games.
She is survived by her 4 children, 3 daughters Lisa Rice of Florida; Carmen and her husband Charles Trombley in Guliderland N.Y. ; Shirley and her husband Tom Lake of Tupper Lake ,N.Y .and her son Robert Counter Jr and his wife Wendy of Scotia, N.Y .Alida is survived by 10 grandchildren ,Nelson “Shane”Rice of Scotia; Elisa Rice, Michael Rice of Granville, N.Y. James Rice and wife Helena of Germany; Bernard Trombley and wife Rosanna of Albany, N.Y.; Carole Wheelock and husband Brian of Guilderland, N.Y. ; Thomas Lake and wife Lori of Marcy, N.Y. ; Carole Lake of Olympia, Washington ; Amy Counter of Buffalo, N.Y. ; and Robert Counter the 3rd of Scotia ,N.Y. Alida is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Eric Jr his brother Ethan Erickson, Jacob and his sister Christina Rice all from Granville, N.Y. ; Elise and her sister Samantha Rice of Germany; Jerred and his sister Rachael of Albany, N.Y.
Alida was predeceased by her husband Robert Counter Sr. on May 31,1988 and a daughter Carole Counter on September 4th 1969. and her parents, 3 brothers Lucien ,Real and Leonidas, 3 sisters Lucille ,Florette and Jeanette .She is survived by a brother Robert Labbe ,and 2 sisters Carmen Labbe & Rosilda Labbe-Roy and several nieces ,nephews all from Lac Megantic P.Que, Cananda.
